What is the Incorporation Process?


The first step of incorporating a company in Hong Kong is to select a company name.  The company name may be in Chinese, English, or both. It is mandatory to select a unique name for your company, as any duplication with other companies, present or the past, will be rejected.

 

Then you will need to choose an appropriate company structure and legal entity before company registration. The most common business type is limited company because it protects your personal assets from business dangers. Upon selection of the above, you can submit the application documents and other supporting documents mentioned above to the Hong Kong Companies Registry together with the corresponding fees.

Can I Incorporate in Hong Kong If I am Not a Local? 


Yes! You can register a company in Hong Kong even you are not local, there is no requirements on the nationality of the shareholders and the directors. However, you are required to have a local business registered address, PO box is not accepted by the government and a company secretary, either a Hong Kong citizen or a licensed corporate service provider.

 

To register a business in Hong Kong, you don’t have to physically be in Hong Kong to incorporate a company. However, upon successful incorporation, most Hong Kong banks will require a physical meeting with you in Hong Kong to submit hard copies of all your documentary evidence in person.
